[FIXED] GTA 5 crashing on your PC

Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5 crashes whenever you’re in the middle of the game, or launching the game on your computer? We understand how frustrating it is. But don’t worry. There are something you can do to fix GTA 5 crashing issues.

GTA 5 on PC has been plagued with game crashing issues, and Rockstar has provided us with a patch to fix the problem. If you're experiencing random crashes, there's no need to worry anymore! This guide will walk you through what to do if your game keeps crashing!

[FIXED] GTA 5 crashing on your PC

Step 1 - Turn off MSAA in graphics settings

One potential reason for GTA 5 crashing on your PC could be due to MSAA (Multi-Sample Anti-Aliasing) being enabled in the graphics settings. This can be easily fixed by turning off MSAA in the settings menu. To do this, simply:

1. Open the settings menu by pressing ESC while in game

2. Navigate to the Graphics tab

3. Under Advanced Graphics Settings, find the MSAA setting and set it to Off . Click Apply or Save          changes to apply these changes.

4. If you still have trouble running GTA 5 after following these steps, then we recommend that you            restart your computer in Safe Mode and try running the game again. In Safe Mode with networking        enabled, any third party software installed should not interfere with running GTA V from Rockstar          Games again.

Step 2 - Launch As Administrator

If you're having trouble launching GTA 5, try running it as an administrator. To do this, right-click on the GTA 5 shortcut and select Run as Administrator. If that doesn't work, try launching the game from Steam by right-clicking on it and selecting Launch as Administrator. Still not working? It might be a hardware problem. Make sure your drivers are up to date, or contact tech support for help troubleshooting.

Step 3 - Check OS Compatibility

One of the first things you should do if you're having trouble running GTA 5 on your PC is to check whether or not your system meets the minimum requirements for the game. Unfortunately, if your system doesn't meet the minimum requirements, there's not much you can do to fix the issue. You may want to consider upgrading your computer, buying a gaming laptop, or switching to a different video game.

If your system does meet the minimum requirements but you're still experiencing problems with GTA 5 crashing on your PC, then it might be time for a reinstallation of Windows. To avoid potential issues during installation and reinstallation, it would be best to back up all data from your device before proceeding with this step.

Step 4 - Try disabling mods

If you're playing GTA 5 with mods, it's possible that they might be causing the game to crash. To see if that's the case, try disabling all of your mods and seeing if the game still crashes. If it doesn't, then you know that one of your mods is causing the issue. Try re-enabling them one by one until you find the culprit. You can do this by editing the mods folder in your Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V directory, deleting any files that you don't need and trying again.

Step 5 - Check Firewall Settings

If you're still having trouble with GTA 5 crashing, the next thing you should check are your firewall settings. Sometimes, firewall software can block certain features of the game, causing it to crash. To fix this, simply add GTA 5 to your firewall's list of allowed programs and try running the game again. You might also want to adjust your firewall's security settings so that they don't put a strain on your computer when playing games online.

Step 6 - Update Drivers

If you're still having trouble with GTA 5 crashing, the next step is to update your drivers. Outdated drivers can cause all sorts of problems, so it's important to keep them up-to-date. You can usually find the latest drivers for your graphics card and other hardware on the manufacturer's website. For example, if you have an NVIDIA graphics card, you can get the latest drivers from NVIDIA's website. To install the new drivers, first uninstall any old ones you may have installed before by following these steps: Click Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features > Select NVIDIA Graphics Driver > Click Uninstall. Next, follow these steps to install the latest driver for your NVIDIA graphics card:

Click Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features

Select NVIDIA Graphics Driver

Step 7 - Fixing Bad Pool Header Error

This error is usually caused by a problem with your computer's memory or RAM. To fix it, you can try restarting your computer, running a memory test, or updating your drivers. If those things don't work, you may need to replace your RAM. If that doesn't work, get in touch with customer support as soon as possible because there might be something wrong with your hardware. They'll know how to help you and they'll be able to tell if it's just a software issue.

Step 8 - Clear Validation Data

If you're still having trouble with GTA 5 crashing on your PC, the next step is to clear your validation data. This data is stored in your registry and can become corrupt over time. To clear it, follow these steps

1) Type regedit into the search bar.

2) Click File > Export > Select All.

3) Rename file to clear-validation-data (without quotes).

4) Browse for location of file on your computer and select a destination that doesn't have any important      files or information. Make sure you remember where this file is saved. You'll need to delete it again       if this didn't work. After clearing out your validation data, restart your computer and try running             GTA 5 again. Hopefully this has solved the issue with GTA 5 crashing on your PC.

Step 9 - Reinstall Game

If you're still having trouble with GTA 5 crashing on your PC, the next step is to reinstall the game. This will delete any corrupted files and allow you to start fresh. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Uninstall GTA 5 from your PC.

2. Delete the GTA 5 folder from your computer.

3. Restart your computer.

4. Reinstall GTA 5 from scratch.

5. Try running the game again.

Step 10 - Run In Windowed Mode

If you're still having trouble with GTA 5 crashing, try running the game in windowed mode. To do this, go to your GTA 5 installation folder and find the Settings.xml file. Open it with a text editor and look for the line that says WindowedMode=0. Change the 0 to a 1 and save the file. Then launch GTA 5 and see if it crashes. If it does crash again, open the Settings.xml file again and change the number back to 0. You can also press ALT+ENTER during gameplay to toggle between full-screen and windowed modes.

Step 11 - Clear out old saves

If you've been playing GTA 5 for a long time, there may be a lot of old save data clogging up your system which could cause problems. The best way to clear out old saves is by manually moving them into another folder so that they no longer clutter up your hard drive space. It's also worth deleting any screenshots or videos you may have taken in-game as these will just take up more space and are not needed. Once you've done this and restarted the game, it should run much smoother than before.

Step 12 - Verify integrity of game cache

Sometimes games will have missing or corrupted data that causes issues when being read by the computer. By verifying the integrity of your game cache, you're making sure everything is in order and loading as it should be. You can do this by following these steps Right-click GTAV in Steam > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache. If there are any missing or corrupt files, Steam will download them for you. After verifying the integrity of your game cache, try playing again to see if it has fixed the issue. If not, try running a system file checker to scan for possible errors in Windows with these instructions: Start > Search cmd (or Command Prompt) and right-click to Run As Administrator. Type sfc /scannow into Command Prompt and hit Enter. Let the system file checker run its course - if any errors pop up during scanning then you may need to reinstall Windows.

Once you've followed these steps and fixed GTA 5 crashing for good, go back to step one and make sure that your settings are correct. If GTA still crashes after doing all of this, then it might be time to contact Rockstar Games Customer Support.
