How to fix Nvidia driver issues in windows 10,11,8 and 7,
Nvidia drivers are not the most reliable pieces of software out there, which can cause all sorts of issues on Windows 11 ,10, 8 and 7 computers with an Nvidia graphics card installed. There are many ways to fix this problem, but we’ll walk you through the easiest one in this article. It might take you around 15 minutes to complete this process, but after you do, your computer will run much smoother and more stable than before! Let’s go!
1) Download Driver Sweeper
Driver Sweeper is a free software that can be used to delete drivers from your computer. This can help if you're experiencing errors with a specific driver or drivers. The tool is available as a bootable DVD, ISO file, and installer package. The DVD has the advantage of being able to start up outside of Windows, so even if Windows won't start or load, you can still run the program. It will scan for outdated, corrupt, and broken drivers on your PC. Click on Clean Drivers and it will uninstall them all. Reboot the computer after uninstalling all drivers. If the error messages persist, follow these instructions to manually update your graphics card driver: Restart your computer by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete, then selecting restart from the options list which appears. After rebooting into Windows 10's or your OS(win 11,8,7) installation screen select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.
2) Run Driver Sweeper
Running Driver Sweeper will remove all files related to the Nvidia driver that are left on your computer after uninstalling it. Once Driver Sweeper is finished, simply reboot your PC and try installing the Nvidia driver again.
1) Run Driver Sweeper.
2) Reboot after scanning.
3) Follow prompts during installation wizard and uninstall old drivers from there.
4) Install new driver package.
5) Restart computer and open Device Manager (devmgmt.msc). You should see an Unknown device with a yellow triangle indicating you need to update the driver for this device. Right-click on this unknown device and select Update Driver Software... then choose Browse my computer for driver software...
6) Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer, then choose High Definition Audio Controller (the new AMD audio controller), then click Next > Finish. Finally, reboot once more.
1) If you’re still having problems, install Microsoft Windows Updates manually to make sure they’re not causing the issue.
2) Scan for viruses with AVG or another anti-virus program before reinstalling anything - if one exists, it could be blocking any installation attempts.
3) Check for incompatibility with other programs by uninstalling them temporarily - often times your operating system will require a restart after uninstalling these programs.
3) Delete all drivers
There are a few possible fixes for this issue. The first and most important step is to restart your computer and turn off your graphics card. Next, reboot the computer again and turn on your graphics card. Lastly, restart one more time and re-install your drivers. If this does not work, you can try changing the power settings of your monitor. Go to Control Panel -> System -> Hardware and Sound -> Power Options -> Choose what the power buttons do and click Change settings that are currently unavailable. Uncheck Turn on fast startup and click Save changes. After these three steps, try installing drivers again.
4) Reboot your PC
One of the most common causes of this issue is a malfunctioning video card. The easiest way to rectify this issue is by restarting your computer. The first step would be to unplug your power cord and reboot your computer. Next, plug your power cord back in and wait for the laptop or desktop pc to turn on. Once it turns on you will want to shut it down again by pressing the power button located at the bottom of the screen or keyboard. After doing so, you will need to press the power button once more to boot up your PC one last time.
It’s possible that this could take up to five minutes but once it does start up everything should work as normal.
