Your gaming laptop should be able to run the latest games with ease, but you don’t want to spend more than $1000 on it. Luckily, there are plenty of great gaming laptops that cost under $1000 and can run all the games you want it to run. Here are the top five best gaming laptops under $1000 in 2022, along with their specs and price ranges. And make sure to check out this list every year when you’re ready to buy a new gaming laptop!
My criteria for judging a laptop
When I judge a laptop for its ability to be used for gaming, I consider two primary criteria: its frame rate per second (fps) and how many frames per second is being produced on average. A higher fps means your computer is capable of handling more difficult graphics and thus that you’ll be able to play newer games at a better resolution with smoother graphics. The baseline threshold I use when judging laptops is 60 fps; if your laptop is achieving that, then it will be well-suited for gaming.
My criteria for ranking them
This list is based on four criteria: features, portability, price, and performance. The first three should be obvious: A good gaming laptop needs to have a great processor and graphics card.
My top 5 options
While I could have gone for a massive, expensive gaming laptop, I instead opted for some great mid-range choices. All of these laptops include: An Intel Core i5 or Ryzen 5 processor (or higher), 8GB RAM (or more), and a dedicated graphics card under 1TB(or SSD) hard drive space and a 15.6 inch screen or better.
